Welcome to your holiday island – Als in Southern Jutland!
Island Als is the 7th largest island in Denmark, laying in the lee of the eastern coastline of Jutland, close to the Danish-German border.
The island is connected to the mainland by two bridges at Sønderborg and the car ferry Bitten on the northern part of the island and there is daily departures of busses and trains. From the islands Funen and Ærø you have daily ferry departures and from Søby on island Ærø the journey by ferry is 100% green on board the E-ferry Ellen.
Stores for shopping of daily groceries is found in Skovby, Tandslet, Fynshav, Guderup and Havnbjerg, while a larger selection of stores and shops is found in Høruphav, Augustenborg and Nordborg. The main city with the largest selection of stores and shops is Sønderborg, here you can go shopping in the cosy pedestrian street and Shoppingcenter Borgen in the city centre or visit the eastern part of town Center Øst.
