The Royal Kitchen Garden at Gråsten
It is truly regal, with its winding footpaths, stylish herb beds and trellis and not to forget, the beautiful rows of fruit trees. Then there is also the location where the opposite neighbour is the royal family's summer residence - Gråsten Castle with its garden and church.
The Royal Kitchen Garden at Gråsten is a cooperation between the Agency for Culture and Palaces and Sønderborg Municipality. An important part of the project is economic and social sustainability as well as local support.
The gardener’s from the Royal Palace Garden will run the kitchen garden in close cooperation with the Green Team from “Væksthuset” who also will manage the café and the shop. “Væksthuset” is a section of the social psychiatry in the municipality of Sønderborg Kommune.
The café offers a selection of sandwiches and pastry as well as coffee. It is not possible to book tables as well as coffee and cake in advance at the café. You can choose to sit in the Greenhouse or have coffee To Go and find one of the lovely places out in the garden.
