Jørgen Rieck has built up his collection over a period of 60 years.
This is likely Denmark's largest private archaeological collection and, for some geographic areas, is even larger than collections in the National Museum.
Some Danish national treasures are included and you can see the brain skull of the Cro-Magnon man "Peter", which was found at the creak Gilbækken near Elsmark.
Take part in the activity days on July 9th and August 6th 2019.
Tuesday July 9th from 1-4 pm: Grind your own flour on a real grinding mill from the Stone Age and make our own Stone Age jewellery. Material price DKK 20. There is coffee, tea and juice. We have a bon fire and sticks to bake a twist bread made out of your on flour.
Tuesday August 6th from 1-4 pm: If you have some prehistoric finds, then bring them! We have invited Knud Bille, former board member of Sønderjyllands Arkæologer, to date the finds and tell about their use. The events is free of charge.
At the activity days, you can also see one of the largest private collection in Denmark of prehistoric finds.
