Ferieregion Sønderborg can be reached by car air bus train and ferry
The island of Als and Sønderborg is connected to the mainland with 2 bridges. Christian d. X´s Bridge and Alssundbroen.  There are connection to the highway, E45, via road No. 41. Do you come from the North to Als, there is a ferry connection from Ballebro til Hardeshøj this tour only takes 10 minutes. Along road No. 8 it will take you about half an hour to reach the Danish/German border. Do you want to go to Germany by public tranport we recommend you to go by bus. From Sønderborg to Flensburg takes about one hour and there is a departure almost every hour. Ask for timetable at the tourist offices or see (only in Danish) Sydtrafik.
 Are you travelling by train, you will find a railway station both in Sønderborg and Gråsten. There is a direct connection to Copenhagen and other places every second hour. See train connections and offers here.

 From the airport in Sønderborg there are several daily connections to Copenhagen. The tour takes about 40 minutes. From Als there are ferry connections to Ærø (Søby- Fynshav) and Funen (Bøjden-Fynshav) both trips takes about one hour - we recommend you to take your bikes along to explore the 2 neighbour islands. Booking in advance is necessary both for cars and bicycles.
